The Jobs for Youth Leadership Program

The Jobs for Youth Leadership and Training Program (JOBS) provides job and life skills training and paid internship, apprenticeship, and job opportunities for juniors and seniors (ages 16-18).

Youth are recruited to the program though relationships with local schools and alternative education agencies, the Workforce Investment Board Youth Council, churches, and community groups.  Youth participate in a range of activities at the YWCA of WNY offices located at the JFK Center at 114 Hickory as well as off-site opportunities such as internships and college visits. 

Students enroll for the fall and spring.  If students complete the program successfully, they are then eligible to participate in the summer JOBS program and they receive first priority.  We also recruit additional students for the summer program.
