The Benjaman Gallery has been a part of the Allentown Association’s First Friday’s Gallery Walk for years and having opening night for ROAR! coincide with the first night of First Friday’s Gallery Walk makes perfect sense. Many local galleries open their doors that night and lots of people will be out exploring local galleries so it is the perfect time to launch this event.

Emily Tucker, Director of The Benjaman Gallery, said, "My mother and I met Deborah Lynn Williams through a friend a few years ago and over time we learned more about what YWCA of WNY does for women in this community. We began talking about how we might bring the resources we have at the Gallery to benefit YWCA of WNY and developed this idea of women artists benefiting women".

"This event is the first time that YWCA of WNY and The Benjaman Gallery have partnered and we are very excited about the event. The idea of having women artists donate all or part of the proceeds from their work to help other woman and families in this community is fantastic. Women helping other women is so important," said Deborah Lynn Williams, CEO of YWCA of WNY.
